Notes from Brenda
Our trip to England was wonderful and far too short. The painters in Stockbridge were a dream . . . so friendly, happy and enthusiastic about their painting. It was truly a joy to work with them.
The photo of the hydrangea was shot while we were touring the Lake District. It was growing in the tiny front garden of the bed and breakfast where we stayed in Windermere.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Hilltop, the home of Beatrix Potter. I have long been a fan of her simple and charming artwork. What an inspiration it was to travel the Cumbria area, where she spent most of her adult life working and creating many of her unforgettable characters. It was easy to see why Beatrix fell in love with the area and chose to live out her life there. Hilltop was the first of many farms that she purchased and left in a land conservancy as a legacy of country farming life. Most of the farms have been preserved and are still being worked by tenant farmers andd their families.
Robert and I will traveling next to Baton Rouge for our annual Homecoming Seminar. It is always wonderful to be back home visiting with friends and painting with the girls.

2009 SEMINAR SPECIAL
The 2009 seminar brochure is now on the website for you to download.
In consideration of high fuel and air fare prices, we have decided to give a discount on the 2009 seminar fees. You will receive a 10% discount on the first seminar you attend, a 15% discount on the second seminar you attend, and a 20% discount on the third seminar you attend. This discount applies to 2009 seminars only and will be extended on final seminar payment. (This discount does not apply to merchandise purchased at the seminar.)
Thank you for dropping in to visit us today. On our site you will find instructional materials including books, packets, intensive study booklets, videos, and DVD's. Visit the Shopping area of the site to find these and also project surfaces, brushes, and porcelain.
It has been a busy time for project development. Brenda has been working on many new projects for seminars and publications. You will find many new items including water colors and acrylics in the new item and pattern packet areas. Have you checked out the new Painting Supplies page recently? We have added some of our most requested items to this page. The Tips and More section now has a lesson on Gold Leafing techniques, so be sure to visit this page.
We will continue to offer gift certificates through the year as they have been popular items. Whatever the occasion. . .birthday, anniversary, Valentine's Day or Mother's Day, a gift certificate is always a treat.
Speaking of wonderful gifts, every year, we have husbands who purchase seminars for their wives for one of these special occasions. Many come to Williamsburg with their wives. There is so much to enjoy here in the Colonial area, and wonderful golf courses are abundant.
