BRENDA'S BANTER
Happy Valentine’s Day....the first major holiday since the New Year celebration. I love decorating for this occasion and always put out Valentine things immediately after taking down Christmas. It helps keep the house from looking quite so bare after all the Christmas finery is gone. This time of year also makes me a bit sentimental and brings back memories of special times with friends, family, and things we painted in the past to commemorate the holiday.
The present slide show shows a few favorite areas of the house decorated for the occasion and also some oldy but goody projects painted in years gone by. These projects may also bring back old memories for some of you who painted them.

NEW WEB SITE FEATURE - CHAPTER SPOTLIGHTS
This section that will feature chapters and local painting groups on the web site. I believe what happens on a local level is the lifeblood of decorative painting and I feel it is important to promote local activities. If you are interested in being included in this, please send us an image or two of a chapter activity, tell us a little about your group, and send contact information. We can only do one or two at a time, and it may take a while, but we will try to feature everyone who wants to be included.
February’s Featured Chapter - Old Dominion Decorative Painters (ODDP)
Our travel seminar program was kicked off in late January with the Richmond VA chapter. They did a lovely job on both their magnolia and the Yorkshire Cottage watercolor. These gals have a great chapter. They are very active, with paint in’s at chapter meetings, guest teacher seminars, luncheons, and service projects. They have a wonderful camaraderie and make everything about painting fun! If you are a painter in the vicinity of the Richmond VA area, you should consider joining this group.
