Brenda Stewart Seminar Programs
Williamsburg Seminars
You are invited to attend a painting seminar with Brenda Stewart. The seminar begins on Thursday at 1PM with a time for orientation and preparation. That evening Brenda and Robert host a dinner in their home. You will have the opportunity to see how Brenda uses her paintings in her home and to visit her studio. This is followed by three full days of painting. The seminar notebook will include the daily projects, plus one or two lagniappe projects to be done in the evenings or at home. Seminar projects typically include a variety of subject matter, including portrait studies, florals, fruits, and still life. Some seminars focus on special themes. The seminar projects are always new material, fresh from Brenda's brushes.
Brenda teaches with an easy to follow step by step method. In 2007 Brenda began teaching all seminars with a new state -of-the art projection system. The large screen can be seen throughout the room. Every seat is a great seat. Seminar participants receive instruction on color harmony, value control, composition, and Brenda's beautiful painting techniques.
Brenda does beautiful and exciting new designs for each Williamsburg seminar. The projects are selected to include a variety of subject matter, color usage and techniques. Your seminar fee includes tuition, a notebook of all printed materials and color photographs. A light breakfast, coffee, and afternoon snacks. It does not include seminar surfaces. An effort is made to keep each project price as low as possible, with consideration being given to the three day averaged cost. We typically do not announce the seminar projects until the seminar newsletter goes out, but if you need information earlier, please contact us.
Our 2008 Williamsburg Seminars have a new home!
We are moving the seminars to a different hotel in 2008. We have signed contracts with the Days Hotel Busch Gardens. This is a fully enclosed hotel with handicap rooms and elevators. The lighting in the meeting room is wonderful. We feel it is a much better situation for our students and classes. Homecoming Seminar
Each autumn since moving to Virginia, Brenda and Robert return to the Baton Rouge area for a homecoming seminar. It is a special time to meet with old friends and paint with long time students. Painters who find this location more convenient may wish to register for the Homecoming seminar. There are students from several states that attend and the group is most hospitable and welcoming of newcomers. An optional watercolor class will be offered with this seminar. As with the Williamsburg program, the project subject matter is varied.
